Jan Baskin focuses on strategic marketing, public relations, media relations, all aspects of general corporate communications, product management, crisis aversion and management, corporate cultural transitioning, new product launches, change management, business growth and turnaround.
Noted for her successes in global branding design and implementation, Jan specializes in creating marketing strategies that result in revenue growth. Technology, healthcare, telecommunications, general and non-profit businesses of all sizes have benefited from her extensive product management, business revitalization, crisis management and leadership positioning experience. Jan focuses on the marketing elements of the business, improving employee, client and customer relationship processes and changing customer and staff perceptions, all customized to improve ROI. Jan efficiently and creatively helps companies and organizations grow their businesses.
Jan currently directs a 23-county high-tech workforce initiative in Florida and is a member of the leadership team turning around a large community hospital that has not been meeting its potential. She has served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for a software company focused on governance, risk and compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (“SOX”) compliance solutions, and developed the strategy that enabled a small local non-profit agency to transform into an organization with nationwide presence and support.
Jan Baskin’s expertise in marketing, Public Relations, branding and cultural change within an organization is well-known in the United States, Canada and Asia. She served as Vice President of Public Relations for AT&T Canada. During her 11 year tenure at AT&T, she established a proven reputation for successfully introducing new products and services, turning stagnant or lackluster parts of the business into vital ones and handling crisis situations. Her branding programs, marketing plans and implementation resulted in millions of dollars in increased sales throughout AT&T’s data communications business in the United States, Canada, Europe and throughout Asia.
Jan was also President of The St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, transforming a failed organization into a viable business. She was also with Arthur Andersen & Co., becoming the first marketing director of any of the former Big-Eight accounting firms in Florida.
Jan Baskin earned her BA from The Ohio State University, where her focus was on Sino-Soviet Foreign Trade and Russian and Chinese Languages. She is a popular speaker on organizational development, organizational communication and business revitalization. She has been recognized for her leadership roles in a myriad of community projects. She has taught organizational communication at the University of South Florida and Public Relations/ Marketing at Saint Leo University.
